Balkan Trafik 2009 : 16, 17 & 18.04.2009

For its second edition on 27, 28 & 29 March 2008, Balkan Trafik welcomed 5800 people. That is twice as much as in 2007 ! People came from the Balkans, were fans of world or electro music or just eager for discovery but they all had one thing in common: they all found what they were looking in this three-day festival with 182 artists.

On Saturday the concert hall Henri LeBoeuf was overcrowded for the exclusive Albanian show « Tirana-Brussels ». This show produced by 1001 valises gave us a good idea of what Albanian musical tradition looks like, amongst others thanks to Gjovalin Nonaj who directed the show. This Belgian-Albanian accordion virtuoso seems to be very popular and appreciated by the audience.

Many children were there too. They could try to juggle and do acrobatics at the « Balkan Zirkus.eu» workshops that preceded the circus show. Shadow shows, trapeze, tissu, clowns…this show mixing Balkan and Belgian circus is an occasion to remember.

From the successful opening with the preview of the film « Against the stream » to DJ Gaetano Fabri’s last set the party went full swing three days long !
