KOLO is the circular dance. Dancers by both hands hold hands of neighboring dancers.

KOLO is the moving circle.

KOLO is a magical ritual by closing the circle which is symbol of protecting community against any evil.

KOLO is the most common and popular form of Serbian dances.

KOLO - The Serbian National Folk Dance Ensemble is the most prestigioustreasure of traditional culture in the field of performing arts and its mostreputed ambassador worldwide.


Since 1948 - when it has been founded - up to nowadays KOLO has managedwith great enthusiasm to elevate presentation of folk dances, music and songs to the genuine art. The repertoire has been shaped and created by the most prominent Serbian choreographers and composers whose creations adapted folk dances and music torequirements of performing arts, enriched and underlined their artistic issues but still preserving their folk style and flavor.

Original costumes of enormous value, some made in 19th century, make KOLO a kind of a moving museum.

Audiences around the world have seen performances of KOLO in most prestigious halls (Carnegie Hall - New York, Bolshoi Theatre - Moscow, Opera Australia - Sydney, Royal Festival Hall - London, Opera Koeln, Palais Chaillot - Paris, etc.)
 
More then sixty top professional ( dancers, singers and musicians ) perform and present at the high artistic level diversity and abundance of ethnic dance heritage and choreographic creations, grace, perfection of performance, extraordinary richness and beauty of original costumes as well as high music performance.
