A fantastic collaboration begins between the Cultural and Social Cohesion Center of Molenbeek-St-Jean and Balkan Trafik!
 
Balkan Trafik and the Cultural Center worked together on a "chanting" evening which will feature groups Sufi "Sejfullah" from Bosnia and the "Sifes" from Morocco!

Sufi music concerts in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church

 

To celebrate the end of its long renovation, this beautiful Art Deco church, classified as remarkable monument and designed by the architect Joseph Diongre (Flagey), welcomes an exceptional musical and spiritual double Sufi, Bosnian and Moroccan music concert; an audio and visual experience to discover in a magical place.

Simultaneously with the end of the Balkan Trafik Festival, on the 10th of April at the Bozar, Molenbeek, the Cultural Center and the “Foyer” will be very pleased to share this wonderful musical journey with you.

Program:

"Sejfullah": Sufi group from Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina)

Since the '90s the male choir "Sejfullah warms up the Balkan region with spiritual Muslim music, but also featuring in Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia ....
In 2007, the band of 9 musicians and singers recorded its first album entitled "Sjette" which also includes two clips "El Muallim" and "Jahač hrabrosti" recorded in the Bosnian studios of Hayat Production.
 
"Fifes": Moroccan Sufi group

Those 5 versatile musicians with Moroccan backgrounds (2 violinists, 1 lutenist and 2 percussionists) compose the group Fifes. They will enable you to dive into the “Sufi’s World” as an integral part of Moroccan musical heritage, testifying of the authenticity of the Moroccan art music. Fifes will take us on a magic carpet ride on Ahl Tourat, Malhoune and Andalusian sound waves of Sufi music.


With Azzedine Jazouli (percussion), Abdelali Jazouli (percussion), Abderrahim Semlali (violin), Abdelah Filali Mamour (oud), El Houssine Eradi (violin, suissen).
