Ferenc Potocki ![]() Ferenc Potocki I got to know juggling in 1999. At that time it was just a hobby for me: I spent my spare time juggling during my school years but I soon realised I wouldn’t stop at this point. In 2001 I tried performing, mainly fire-shows. I started to collaborate with all the Hungarian juggling teams of that time (eg. Tűzmadarak, Néró Zsonglőrszínház). After graduating at high-school, I travelled to see the world. I did several street performances to get more experience and I also learnt from everybody I could possibly learn from. I was lucky to meet a retired fakir who taught me some tricks that I still use in my shows. In 2004 I started unicycling, but it was pushed into background for juggling. However, I still organise competitions and other programmes with my friend, Tamás Pintye for the ambitious youth. In the meantime, I polished my knowledge in the studio of the Hungarian Circus and Varieté. In 2005 I took on the organisation of the Hungarian Juggling Convention which now runs as the Hungarian Juggling Parade and Convention. In 2006, thank to the Hungarian Juggling Association and Veronika Gallyas who submitted and gained a competition, I went to Berlin to the Jonglierkatakomben which is the only juggling school in Europe. Here, I learnt from great jugglers such as Valantin Valantin Tovartchi, Stefan Sing, Luke Wilson, Ben Richter and Alan Blim. I hope this list of names will grow in the future! I made the debut of my first solo show in 2007, I hope it will be successful.. ![]() Balint Turai So, where should I start... Maybe at the beginning :I was very young when I was born... No! It's overly the beginning. I started with juggling about five years ago. I just did it as a hobby while I was at university, but I juggled every single minute in my spare-time. Then it became more than a hobby. I met some Hungarian jugglers and I learnt more and more from them. We performed some fire shows in festivals, in juggling conventions, etc. These days juggling is the most important thing in my life. In 2006 I created a solo act with flower sticks and a club passing number with my partner. In 2007 I participated in the creation of a performance of the Artus movement and dance theater company. We performed it with great success in a Hungarian theater, the Palace of Arts. During that time we created the Trio - juggling theater company with my two friends. Now we have a 20 minute performance where each of our solo acts are part of a story. We are also preparing a second show. It will be a club and bouncing ball passing act. This year I will also graduate in traffic engineering at a technological university and next year I will hold another diploma as a Bothmer gymnastic teacher. But my plan for the next 10 years is to work as a juggler. Now they work together in Budapest in their own juggling show. They will perform a juggling routine for the Balkan Zirkus.eu show…and lead the juggling workshop at the Balkan Trafik Festival. ![]() Martina Sülli and Adrienn Fehergyarmati , 18 & 17 years old.
